do YOU have the support you need

We all need help from time to time.
Even with all the information available to us through the internet, guidance from someone with experience is essential to our progress.
Search out people who have knowledge in areas where you do not and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it shows that you are determined to reach whatever goal you have set for yourself.

Why Are You Here?

To make the most of your life, you should know your purpose.

Did you know that 98% of the people asked did not know why they were doing the job they had? 98%!!! Do you fit into this group?
Many of us were brought up being told to get good grades, graduate from college, go to work for some big company and save for retirement. Put in your time and then when you’re old you can retire and enjoy life.
It is this type of plan that turned “work” into a four letter word!
Think-and-Grow-RichWell let me tell you, I was following that plan, but when I became older and close to retirement, I couldn’t afford it! Putting money away didn’t help because of fees and market fluctuations.
If you listen to what Napoleon Hill says, you should determine your “Major Definite Purpose” or “Definite Chief Aim” in life and work to fulfill that.
So figure out why you are here. Find out what excites you and gets you motivated. Ask yourself “Wouldn’t it be great if…” and find a way to do it.
Work doesn’t have to equal drudgery. You can get paid for something you like doing and you will find that you get better results because of your desire to do it.

Invest in Yourself

Increasing your brain power gains more bang for your bucks than any other investment.

Spending money on books or courses to increase your business knowledge should always be considered as an investment.
DuBois_quoteAs you gain knowledge, the value of your brain power increases. As Napoleon Hill puts it:

“Money is worth no more than brains. It is often worth much less.”

As long as you are putting your knowledge into action to attain your goals, your investment will not be wasted.
So the next time you are in a situation to invest in your education of just put the money into a savings account, remember that intelligence reaps a far higher interest rate.

Become Part of a Master Mind to Excel

Being part of a master mind group is a great way to expand your knowledge.

In his book “The Law of Success”, Napoleon Hill writes about the Master Mind in the first chapter. He believes that the power of our brains is multiplied when we get together as a concerted group.
One way that I get together with like minded people daily is to attend a Think and Grow Rich master mind call daily. The one I attend takes place at 9 AM Eastern each week day. You can access it by calling in at 712-432-0900 access code 565762#.
If you aren’t available for the live call, you can catch the replay by calling 712-432-0990 access code 565762#.
On this call we read a portion of the book Think and Grow Rich, or a similar publication, then open the lines for the listener to give their views on the topic. Some people will relate experiences they had from the topic or give an interpretation of the reading.
It is a great way to get interaction with others without leaving your home.
There are other ways to get the master mind experience from home. Just look for ways to join in and help expand your circle of friends and your mind!

Mark YOUR Words

As you get older, what you say has more impact on those around you.

In chapter 8 of “Think and Grow Rich”, Napoleon Hill has this to say on the subject:

“Close friends and relatives, while not meaning to do so, often handicap one through “opinions” and sometimes through ridicule, which is meant to be humorous. Thousands of men and women carry inferiority complexes with them all through life, because some well meaning, but ignorant person destroyed their confidence through “opinions” or ridicule.”

secretsSo when you say something, think about what you are going say. If it can be taken as a negative comment, rephrase it so that it is complimentary.
Have you ever said something offhand that had a negative affect on someone or were the recipient of such a comment? Let me know in the comments below.

Try to Maintain a Spirit of Cooperation

How well do you get along with others?

I was going over chapter 6 in Napoleon Hill’s book “Thing and Grow Rich” titled Organized Planning. In it, he lists the thirty major causes of failure.
Number 25 on his list is “inability to cooperate with others.” He states:

“More people lose their positions and their big opportunities in life, because of this fault, than for all other reasons combined. It is a fault which no well informed business man, or leader will tolerate.”

cooperationWe all get taught this skill from a young age. We are told to go out and play with and be nice to the other children. We are placed in team sports to help us hone this skill as well.
But for some people, this skill is never learned. I am sure you know someone who just never works a team payer in anything.
As you go through life, try to catch yourself when you become uncooperative. Try to think of the reason for your rebelling against others in any situation and find a way to overcome it.
The more you cooperate with others, the smoother life will flow for you!

Don't Throw in the Towel too Easily

Do you stick with your plans through thick and thin?

I was going over chapter 6 in Napoleon Hill’s book “Thing and Grow Rich” titled Organized Planning. In it, he lists the thirty major causes of failure.
Number 9 on his list is “lack of persistence.” He states:

“Most of us are good “starters” but poor “finishers” of everything we begin. Moreover, people are prone to give up at the first signs of defeat. There is no substitute for PERSISTENCE. The person who makes PERSISTENCE his watchword, discovers that “Old Man Failure” finally becomes tired, and makes his departure. Failure cannot cope with PERSISTENCE.”

footballYou see this all of the time. I am sure there is someone you know who goes from one thing to next stating that each previous one didn’t work for some reason or another.
Can you imagine your favorite football team ever winning without persistence? The quarterback would say “they sacked me when we got this far last time so lets just give them the ball now without trying another play.” How well would that go over?
Don’t treat events in your daily life that way. Take setbacks or roadblocks as learning experiences and plow through them to get to a better future.

Have You Chosen the Right Vocation?

Do you truly love your current vocation?

I was going over chapter 6 in Napoleon Hill’s book “Thing and Grow Rich” titled Organized Planning. In it, he lists the thirty major causes of failure.
Number 19 on his list is “wrong selection of a vocation.” He states:

“No man can succeed in a line of endeavor which he does not like. The most essential step in the marketing of personal services is that of selecting an occupation into which you can throw yourself wholeheartedly.”

VocationsSo look at your current line of work and determine if it meets these criteria. If not, it may be time for you to change vocations.
You may be able to get into a line of work that did not even exist when you chose your first vocation.
Remember the world around you is constantly changing. If you want to succeed you have to remain flexible and be willing to change with it.
