There is little difference between risk taking and seeking opportunity
When chances are presented to us we can view them as either opportunities or risks.
You can look at all the rewards you will receive from a successful outcome.
Or you can look at all the potential costs incurred if the outcome is not favorable.
It all depends on your state of mind.
You can be optimistic and look at the good outcomes or pessimistic and linger on the unfavorable ones..
One thing is for certain though, if you never take any risks you will never receive any rewards!
Most of the great breakthroughs in life are achieved by people doing something new or in a different way.
The action is taken even though there is a feeling of dread or uncertainty in the mind.
If you wait until all the risks are removed and it becomes a “sure thing”, the opportunity will most likely have passed you by. Continue reading “Are you taking advantage of opportunities or taking risks?”

When making purchases, most people’s rational thoughts fly out of the window.
Emotions play a much more dominant role than reason.
People purchase things based on how they feel about them more than by how useful or reliable the item may be.
Next time you are about to make a purchase, take a moment to ask yourself the motive behind the purchase.
You may be surprised! Continue reading “Do you choose with your heart or your mind?”
Some Background Information on Now Lifestyle’s Founder
Joel Therien had a thriving career as a personal trainer and he started his second professional career right out of University as a Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist at the Montford Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Although he had an amazing boss, great working colleagues and a pretty good salary of $52,000 a year, Joel wanted more. He wanted to provide a better future for himself and his family. So… the thought of doing stress testing at a hospital for the next 40 years started to lose its appeal. Hence he quit after eight months into it.
However, at 27 years of age he started to lose his health and became a “medical mystery”, as he likes to refer to his health problem. He had been misdiagnosed with either Lou Gehrig’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or brain cancer. He went from a lean muscular 240 pounds with 7% body fat down to 165 pounds. As a bodybuilder, this deeply concerned him and this is when he turned to the internet to look for answers. Continue reading “Joel Therien and Now Lifestyle”

Looking out the window on a Spring day and seeing the changing colors of the flowers and the new leaves in the trees is a good reminder.
But is your life changing in the way you have always hoped?
Are you taking advantage of all that life has to offer you to reach your dreams?
It is up to you to steer your life in the direction you want to go so that you don’t get swept away in the wrong direction as the world changes around you.
Whenever you start out on a new venture, you will always run into people who will have negative views to share.
If you have done your research and believe in your course, don’t let these detractors sway you from it.
Especially if these people have not attained the goals you are striving to reach.
Tell them you will take heed of their warnings and carry through with your plans.
Be wary of whose council you listen to
People love to give off the cuff advice, and it is usually of a negative nature.
When you receive this advice regarding a new venture you have undertaken, ask some qualifying questions of the person.
Lets say you are starting a new online business that requires you maintain a blog for exposure.
You will hear the line:
“I tried that and it didn’t work.”
When you do, probe deeper into this person’s work.
Ask to see their blog, read their posts, find out which company they were affiliated with.
You will most likely see that:
they only made 2 or 3 blog posts
the posts themselves were poorly structured and uninformative
they were affiliated with a totally different company
And most importantly, they did not achieve the goal you are trying to attain!
When this occurs, politely tell them you will take their advice into consideration and move forward with your plans.
If you feel you do need advice, seek out people who have attained the goal you are striving toward and ask them.
This way you will be receiving council from a person who can direct you properly and not just misdirection from a disappointed person.

Throughout history there have been examples of pioneers going against the grain and proving that the conventional wisdom was wrong.
People told them it couldn’t be done yet they went ahead and did it anyway.
Thanks to these people we now:
know that the world isn’t flat (Christopher Columbus)
have electric light bulbs (Thomas Edison)
drive cars instead of horse drawn wagons (Henry Ford)
We all go to the dentist and the doctor for regular check ups.
But how often do you get a financial health check?
Knowing where you are financially is just as important as know the state of your physical health.
