I watched this video of a speech that Steve Jobs gave to a graduating class and thought it was worth sharing:
Although this was a graduation speech, I feel that the message holds true for people in all walks of life. One part that particularly resonated with me was when he said the following:
You can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.
You have to trust in something; your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.
Because believing that the dots will connect down the road, will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well worn path, and that will make all the difference.
Life is a series of choices. What you do on any given day is guided by the choices that you make.
Most people choose to keep doing the same things that got them to where they currently are. By doing so, they remain in the same situation day in and day out.
Sure it’s the safe way to go. It may even be the same route their parents took before them.
But in today’s ever changing world, the options you can choose at any moment keep growing faster every day. Why not try something that will differentiate you from those around you?
You often hear people complaining about the job they have and how they hate going into work every day. But it’s up to them to choose something different if that’s what it will take for them to be happy.
You can choose to start working at your own business in any field that interests you NOW! It only requires that you choose to do so.
