Would You Like Fries With That?

A widely used marketing technique, that you may not be aware of, is the upsell.

Would be surprised to know that the largest selling item at MacDonald’s is the french fries? The reason for this comes down to one little six word phrase:
“Would you like fries with that?”
This technique is known as an upsell. Once the customer has decided to buy your main product, you offer them an item that compliments their original purchase.
This technique can be used any industry. You get people in the door with your first item and you offer something else that will enhance that purchase once they have become a customer.
