Are You Still Sitting on that Fence?

Before anything can happen, some type of action has to take place. We have all arrived where we are due to the choices we have made and the actions we have taken.
If you are not where you want to be in life, then you have to take the proper actions to make a change.
No too long ago, I definitely was NOT where I wanted to be in life. After working in the corporate world for over 25 years I was laid off. Due to the economic situation in the area, there were no other jobs in my field available.
If that wasn’t bad enough, when I looked at my retirement investments, they were not growing at all. The miracle of compounding interest did not take place in my case.
Up to that point, I thought I had done everything right:

  • I got good grades in school
  • Graduated with a BS degree from university
  • Worked in the corporate world for a good salary
  • Saved 10% of my earnings in retirement funds

So where did I go wrong? I was following the plan that was given to me while growing up, yet I was not where I wanted to be. Continue reading “Are You Still Sitting on that Fence?”

Open Your Mind And Learn Daily

We should all strive to learn something new every day.

Sometimes our attitude keeps us from learning new things. A quote I heard from Eric Hoffer sums it up this way:

To learn you need a certain degree of confidence, not too much and not too little.
If you have too little confidence, you will think you can’t learn.
