Don't Throw in the Towel too Easily

Do you stick with your plans through thick and thin?

I was going over chapter 6 in Napoleon Hill’s book “Thing and Grow Rich” titled Organized Planning. In it, he lists the thirty major causes of failure.
Number 9 on his list is “lack of persistence.” He states:

“Most of us are good “starters” but poor “finishers” of everything we begin. Moreover, people are prone to give up at the first signs of defeat. There is no substitute for PERSISTENCE. The person who makes PERSISTENCE his watchword, discovers that “Old Man Failure” finally becomes tired, and makes his departure. Failure cannot cope with PERSISTENCE.”

footballYou see this all of the time. I am sure there is someone you know who goes from one thing to next stating that each previous one didn’t work for some reason or another.
Can you imagine your favorite football team ever winning without persistence? The quarterback would say “they sacked me when we got this far last time so lets just give them the ball now without trying another play.” How well would that go over?
Don’t treat events in your daily life that way. Take setbacks or roadblocks as learning experiences and plow through them to get to a better future.
